Can Google ads be creative?

Advertisers spend more than 50% of online budgets on search ads. But creativity in Google is limited to 95 characters incl. spaces. To cut through the Google ad clutter, we used the ASCII art, the only form of art direction allowed in Google AdWords.

The ad delivered a solid click-through rate of 2.63% for the keywords "internet marketing" and "online marketing" in the Netherlands. If you are outside the Netherlands, search for "novocortex" in Google to view the ad.
